Two young people, Oliver Barrett IV and Jennifer Cavilleri, live in two absolutely different classes. Oliver’s father wants to see his son achieving unbelievable success and become a real professional in his business. But all father’s dreams are broken, when Oliver meets Jennifer, a girl from working class and too smart even for Oliver.
Their love is developing too fast that they can not fight with it. Their passion and desire to be together breaks all rules and barriers.
But this story has its end. The end is so sudden and so tragic. Oliver gets to know that his beloved is going to die. Her illness is untreatable. Such tragic end turns out to be unrespectable for everyone (I think for author as well).
The last words which Jennifer says to Oliver become a real hymn for true love and true feeling. “Love means never having to say you are sorry”… Is not it great? Great and heartbreaking…
